FOUL PLAY presents essential new voices in furniture from Berlin through the exhibition of current work, which can then be inspected and purchased online.
Material and formal linguistics are re-interrogated, leaving notions of 'classic' behind without sentiment. Born in the tension between furniture and sculpture, each piece is conspicuous and draws from personal narratives.
Meaning-making is explored through contemporary developments of craft that acknowledge vulnerability and imperfection. Techniques and materials, primitive and modern, find new forms of expression. This is work that tells someone's story.
Join us during Berlin Art Week at Weserstr. 167 for our second exhibition and the launch of our first online collection from September 14th to the 22nd.

The Formation chair explores the idea of variation in the position of the same form and how this movement alters the complete appearance, rhythm and character of the object; transforming itself into something else, yet it stays structurally the same. By the simple act of the rotation, three different chairs emerged, named accordingly - Formation 01, 02, 03. Hand built.
Accre lamp is part of Abstract Formations, an interplay of singular shapes in repetition and combination with each other, to create more complex, interconnected structures. Exploring the individual forms, they create the rhythm and composition when merged together. The negative and positive spaces within and between them coexist, as well as the contrast of smooth and textured surfaces and edges. Hand built.

The Folded Table owes its sturdy yet lightweight structure to classical tailoring techniques.
The sheet aluminum's flat, unrolled pattern acts as a blueprint, indicating where the metal needs to be folded and where seams will be joined. The table's legs bend at their apex, flowing into the tabletop while simultaneously providing a vital seam for the table's edge. The table's components are interlocked and bolted together, making a rather flexible material gain tension and strength. The table is offered with an optional bolted sheet (linoleum, leather) to provide alternative haptic sensation.
All dimensions are adjustable to meet custom needs. The table can be fully disassembled, allowing its individual parts to be updated or recycled.
Timo Wuchner is a furniture designer and interior architect based in Berlin.
His furniture pieces are often inspired by sculptures, textures and forms that he translates into intricate details and connections of various materials, predominantly metal. By strictly avoiding the creation of composite materials, he aims to keep parts interchangeable, replaced and most importantly recycled.
Since the beginning we've used found stones to elevate ourselves from the ground.
On a stroll through a cemetary, one likely finds a graveyard of gravestones, somewhere hidden in the back where nature reigns almost free. A place where discarded gravestones end up, stones that are reminiscent of the absent - sometimes long forgotten, from graves no longer paid for, stones that were once carved into a specific shape.
The chair assembles fragments of precious natural stone from an innercity quarry.
Cainelliklaska is an alias for the shared thoughts of the architects Philipp Burst and Paul Schleith. Their work focuses on the transformation of existing buildings. They design interdisciplinary furniture objects and contribute to artistic work.
Ternaire FL is a versatile floor lamp for both public and private spaces. The standing lamp is composed of three anodized aluminium bent rods, defining its essence and marking its presence on the ground. The rods are easily assembled by two connectors, ensuring efficient flat-pack storage

In his personal design practice, the objects revolve around design values more than typologies. The iteration design process through composition and contrasts leads to intricate details, true functionality and balanced proportions. By merging craftsmanship with technology, his designs embody both technicality and essence.
Yellow Top articulates a simple cardboard structure turned into chair. It uses the stability qualities of and welcomes the fragile qualities of the cardboard. It is durable as long it will be taken care of, just as with our civilization.
In his practice, Aleksandr Delev is interested navigating between image and object by creating an infinite dream-like environment. His objects are at the intersection of autonomous design and semi-functional products, intending to create a landscape, sort of psychogeography. In his work he creates analog and digital alterations of forms and patterns in 2D and 3D which glitch by changing the medium they are in.
Aleksandr Delev seeks to depict a different environment aside from utilitarian and universal prescription yet enriched and stimulated with digital apophenias and lost-in-translation gestures.
Lab-inspired lamp, conceived through the use of AI. The hanging material can be exchanged and configured in different ways.
